The Middle Creek Cemetery, located one mile south and one and one-half miles east of Grover Hill , is considerably larger and more widely used than the other cemeteries of Washington and Latty Townships. The Evangelical United Brethren Church is adjacent to the cemetery. The older part of the cemetery, where many of the earliest settlers of Latty Township are buried, is located on the south side of the highway. Northeast of the cemetery is all that remains of the "Jaquette Stone Quarry" and also there is a road which follows the trail that was used by Anthony Wayne as he crossed Washington Township. There is also a mausoleum on the grounds. Inasmuch as a United Brethren Church log building was first built in 1858, and a burial was provided at that time, the land was no doubt originally owned by the church. The north part of this large cemetery is located in Washington Township. One acre of land was deeded by Eli Rop to the township trustees, January 8, 1874. This deed is recorded in Volume 22, page 67, Paulding County Record of Deeds. The United Brethren Church deeded a plot of ground to the township trustees, April 20, 1887. On April 13, 1895, David and Nancy Ross deeded a plot of ground to the United Brethren Church. Source: History of Grover Hill by Laurence R. Hipp (born 1913 in Grover Hill), published in 1971
