A central gathering place for the German military dead of WWI and WWII. Work begun in 1980 and was completed in 1983.
In the cemetery there is a plaque that says in German:
In this military cemetery rest 28 soldiers of the first world war and 154 of the second world war. They belonged to crews of aircraft that fell on Spain, submarines and other Navy ships that sunk. Some of them died in Spanish hospitals because of their wounds. Their burials were scattered throughout all Spain, where the sea threw them to Earth, where their aircraft crashed or where they died. The Volksbund in the years 1980 - 1983 gathered them in this final resting place which was opened in the presence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in a German-Spanish commemorative event on June 1, 1983. Remember the dead with deep respect and humility.
