William Waring built this beautiful Jacobean-style church in 1681. The church was extended and improved in the 19th century but much of the original building remains like the original oak beams of the roof, oak altar rail and the oak pulpit. They are all made from local oak trees. Its tower was built in the 1740s and its bell installed in 1750. The large north transept was added in 1830. William Waring and several of his successors are buried in the east end of the church. The church registers date from 1697 and the oldest gravestone from 1709.
