Add PhotosThe institution, now called the Royal Foundation of St Katharine, moved to Regent’s Park where it took the form of almshouses. St Katharine's Church was built there in 1826-8 by architect Ambrose Poynter. Memorials and remains were transferred there from St Katharine's by the Tower.
The church was severely damaged in WW2 and after the war was donated to the Danish Church and restored. It was reopened by King Frederik and Queen Ingrid of Denmark in 1952. The former church fittings and monuments were dispersed at this time between the Tower of London and St Katharine's Foundation, 2 Butcher Row E14.
