First of all, I want to stress that I initially erred in naming this cemetery as a "battle site", though it is quite close to the mill site which is where the battle actually took place. I would alter the name of this cemetery but I'm not familiar with all of the procedures with the Findagrave webmaster, so we'll leave it at that! The Bennight's Mill (incorrectly referred to sometimes as "Bennet's Mill,) cemetery (aka Springer's Mill Plot,) contains at least 7 fieldstone marked graves, 5 adults, three children. The adults may or may not be other unknown battle dead. There are very likely other graves here as the area was an old community because of the mill being in the area and there is one theory suggesting that 10-20 soldiers were killed at the Battle of Bennight's Mill. The grist mill was owned at the time of the battle by Capt. J.W. Bennight. Cemetery transcribed and walked through on July 4, 2014 by Garrett Gabel, John Harris & Michael Harris.
