--A few days since Mr. Charles H. Gough, son of our late lamented friend Harry D. Gough, Esq., returned to this county from California, after an absence of twenty years, bringing with him the remains of his two brothers, Harry O. and Wm. Thomas Gough both of whom recently died in that State, and on Wednesday last, in the presence of a few friends and relatives of the family, they were interred in the old family grave-yard, at Southampton, near this place, where three generations now repose. Mr. Caffrie, of California, an endeared friend of the brothers, also accompanied the remains and saw them deposited in their last resting place.
Two of the brothers, Charles H. and Harry O. Gough, left Maryland in 1849 to settle in California, and have ever since resided there, except at intervals of brief visits to their native State. They are closely identified with the history and growth of the great city of San Francisco, and have occupied various positions there of usefulness to their fellow citizens. Wm. Thomas Gough, Esq., studied law and graduated in this town, and also subsequently emigrated to California, where he successfully pursued the practice of his profession...
