On May 7, 1967 the first known survey of this cemetery was done by Dr. Allan E. Marble. Per his usual custom, he did not name the cemetery but assigned it an identifying number, in this case 36, and a location, Centerlea. Note: The community name was spelled incorrectly in his notes. The correct spelling is "Centrelea".

At a later date, Genweb volunteers transcribed Dr. Marble's original survey notes and made them available online and, at that time, the volunteers cited the cemetery name as "United Baptist Church Cemetery" and the location as Centerlea. Note: Dr. Marble's error in the spelling of the community name was duplicated by the volunteers online at Rootsweb. The correct spelling is "Centrelea".

The cemetery is currently owned by the Centrelea Cemetery Company and now officially is known as "Centrelea Cemetery".

DIRECTIONS: This cemetery is located on a hill on the south side of Highway 201 behind the United Baptist Church at Civic #3492. The lane to the cemetery is marked by stone pillars to the right of the church.

Centrelea is located on Hwy 201 which runs parallel to the old Hwy 1 through the Annapolis Valley. Once you get to Bridgetown on Hwy 1, turn left at the Scotiabank, cross the bridge, follow until you are forced left or right. Turn right, go a few kilometres, and on your left you will see the Centrelea Baptist Church. To the right of the church, there is a road. Follow the road and voila!!, there is the cemetery.
