In the early 1990's Richard Stultz and Herb Weller helped restore this old burying ground as a project of the Union Bridge Heritage Committee. The land originally belonged to the Farquhars, an early Quaker family. Jacob Holdcraft reported 6 stones(2 Shepherds, 1 Buser, 1 Cox and 2 Webbs) when he copied the inscriptions in 1964, but the careful work of Stultz and Weller revealed small stones with initials indicating that at least 2 Farquhars were buried there as well. A monument erected by the Union Bridge Heritage Committee says: "Farquhar Family Cemetery, Descendants of William Farquhar (1705-1778) and Ann Miller Farquhar, Founders of Pipe Creek Settlement (1735)." The simple Farquhar fieldstone markers with initials are consistent with the burial practices of the Society of Friends (Quakers).
