"Saint Johns Cemetery was established by the Anglican Church on the eastern corner of Lot 10 on the 8th concession, on land deeded to the Bishop of Niagara by John King who at the time of his death in 1861 was buried in the cemetery.
The tombstone of Mrs. Francis Morgan, the mother of 12 children, died at the age of thirty-seven in the year 1860.
In 1970 the tombstones of St. Johns Cemetery, combined with the stones moved from the Medill burying ground, were arranged to form a memorial cairn."
"THE MEDILL CEMETERY
In the year 1853, William and Joseph Medill built a small Baptist Church on their farms, Lot 14 Con. 9 of Maryborough and established a cemetery in the churchyard.
Both William and Joseph Medill were active in Municipal affairs. William was a member of the first township council, holding the office of reeve and deputy reeve. Joseph was the township treasurer for approximately thirty years.
For many years the small burying ground lay in a neglected state. In 1970 the headstones were moved and relocated in St. John's Anglican Cemetery on the 8th Concession. Today the Medill Cemetery is unmarked and uncared for."
