Hamilton Old Parish Church is octagonal in shape was built between 1729 and 1732. The building is ‘A’ listed and was built by renowned architect William Adam. The churchyard contains the Netherton Cross, which dates from the 10th or 11th century and was moved to the churchyard in 1926 following its discovery in the Hamilton Palace grounds, as well as two Covenanting martyrs memorials. There are cemetery records dating back to 1813.
All headstones in the entirety of the cemetery were photographed on March 12th and 15th 2014.
