Add PhotosThe Church of Our Lady of Fatima, situated in Colonia Roma Norte within the Cuauhtémoc Borough of Mexico City, holds its roots in the arrival of the Order of Regular Clerics or Theatine Fathers, initiated by Father Juan Pedro Carafa. Construction of the church was undertaken in 1950 under the stewardship of Father Juan Sullana. Notably, fundraising efforts involved figures such as El Charro Avitia, "The Golden Voice of Mexico," along with contributions from actors Viruta and Capulina, Juan Arvisu, and Ana Bertha Lepe.
By 1972, the Church's construction was completed, featuring stained glass windows portraying the crowning and glorification of the Virgin on its facade. The interiors boast ornate wooden designs. Following damage caused by the 1985 earthquake, reconstruction efforts were focused on restoring the 120 square meter stained glass windows on the facade. The renewed structure maintains its former grandeur and remains a frequent destination for local visitors.
