The original markers had painted row/plot numbers only – no names, dates or engraved information. The painted information is now completely gone. There are still remains of some wooden markers, which are also blank and nearly disintegrated. The original markers appear to be concrete with a metal frame inside, and more than a few of these are broken or missing. There are a limited number of traditional stone markers and all of them have been photographed and uploaded to the appropriate Find-A-Grave memorial.

If a Find-A-Grave memorial does not already have a photo, then an identifiable grave marker cannot be found in this cemetery.

Please do not make any photo requests for this cemetery since all of the graves that can be documented have been documented. Western State Hospital cannot release any information except to family members by written request due to legal/privacy concerns. The hospital moved decades ago and has since moved yet again. The cemetery is now owned by a private real estate development company. The new owners allow limited controlled access to the cemetery.
