DAR cemetery records, recorded in the 1930s, listed

Wachtel/Stine/Troup cemetery, located "Edward T. Hayman Farm, near Row's Park, at Route 40 and Conococheague Creek, north side." The property is surrounded on three sides by the scenic Conococheague Creek.

"The recorder was only able to identify four stones, but there were also 37 Graves with plain stones and a lot of graves with no stones."

In 1989, Washington County purchased the property for the use of a landfill. R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates' did a full archeological survey and were able to identify a few more stones. In 2004, all of the graves were moved to Saint Paul's Cemetery near Clear Spring in a separate section, which is now this cemetery's new home.
