The current Church of the Precious Blood dates from 1881 and is the oldest French-Canadian church in Woonsocket. Work on an earlier building was begun in 1874 but that structure was destroyed by a storm during construction. The belfry is an early 20th century addition.

Monseigneur Charles Dauray, under whose guidance the church, a rectory and a school building was built, is buried to the left of the belfry

The church is designated as RI Historical cemetery WO008 due to Monseigneur Daurays grave, however there are no other burials on the land.
