Millville is the closest community. In the northwestern part of Woodford County head north almost to the very end of Germany Road. The cemetery is located immediately to the left of Germany Road on farm property. It is fenced and gets cleaned out a few times a year by the property owners (bless them).
We visited the cemetery yesterday, December 27, 2013 and found 22 inscribed stones and 28 fieldstone markers. There are no doubt more than 28 fieldstone and/or unmarked burials here.
It is odd in a way that this cemetery became known as the Cook Cemetery. There are only 2 Cook stones. The bulk of the population are Mitchells and Johnsons; and there are several descendants of marriages between the two families, including Elizabeth Cook, who is the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Johnson. I imagine that the Cooks were the latest of the family living closest.
