Lakeview Community Cemetery is located approximately two miles west of the Village of Hughenden on the south side of Highway 13. A large black and white sign marks the roadway leading across prairie grassland to the cemetery and a neighbouring lake. The cemetery is marked by an overhead wrought-iron gateway bearing the name "Lakeview Cemetery"

The cemetery property was firstly Crown land, later homesteaded by J Wadsworth. The 1.243 acres was designated for community cemetery in 1916 and the first grave was that of William Sadler.

One unique memorial is a hand-made wrought-iron enclosure made by Stanley Jankowski to mark the gravesite of his young wife, Eva, who died in a fire. One row, consisting mainly of older graves, lies along the east side of the cemetery and does not follow the usual layout. Among those is a monument erected by members of the Ribstone Constituency and friends to honour the late C.O.F. (Charels) Wright, local M.L.A.

Members of the local branch of the Women's Institure have cared for the cemetery for a number of years. Presently there is a cemetery committee which enlists the help of community volunteers to maintain the area. Records are kept and plots sold through the Village of Hughenden office.

Information on the history of the Hughenden area can be found in the Hughenden Library.
