From Upper Lake, travel southeast on State Highway 20, towards Nice & Lucerne, for approximately 5 miles, then turn left on to Bartlett Springs Road(county road 303), and follow for about 12 miles to its junction with Twin Valley Road. Turn left on to Twin Valley Road(county road 303A & forest road 17N04) and follow(towards Bear Creek & French Ridge) for about 11 miles to the confluence of Rice Fork Eel River & Salt Creek. The cemetery is about a quarter mile easy hike downstream.

According to MAULDIN'S HISTORY of LAKE COUNTY(available at the Lakeport Museum), there is a person buried at Crabtree Hot Springs, and his name is Todd Mitchell, a commercial deer hunter who accidentally shot & killed himself while camped at the springs, and was buried by Mr. Crabtree - before 1900.

NOTE: Although the hot springs is located on private property and closed to the public, the exact location of Todd Mitchell's grave is unknown. A mere 50+ feet from the springs would put him in Mendocino National Forest.
