AKA ABNER SUTTON CEMETERY. Driving directions. From Twin City, go south 3.4 miles on GA Hwy 192. Turn left on Lamb's Bridge Road, and go about 1 mile to Scarboro Church. Turn right onto Scarboro Church Road, and go about 1.6 miles. The cemetery is located on the left, about 30 yards from the dirt road. As of 2012, it is located in brush and cut trees, and surrounded by a very large field.

It has been rumored the cemetery was once used for a pig pen, but I don't believe that's actually the case. It's not likely the cemetery was actually fenced in with the pigs placed inside. This has been farm land for decades, and farmers used to let their livestock roam free. Cows, hogs, and pigs roaming the fields were bad about rubbing against anything to scratch an itch. Unfortunately, the cemetery was located in a small section of the field, and the old grave markers made excellent scratching posts.

Over time, the markers were probably pushed over, or uprooted by hogs and pigs. While rooting aroung the markers, the markers would get moved from their original location, or get pushed all around the small cemetery, and even get buried under the dirt the hogs would push up. If the markers which got covered with dirt were made of wood, they may have already rotted away.

A few years ago, the trees and brush was cut down and a few markers were uncovered. Some were intact, some were broken, but none were in their original location. Most of the markers were picked up and propped against tree stumps. Other markers may still be buried under the dirt.
