From Shelbyville, go east on US 60 for 1.7 miles, turn left on KY 1871/ Rocket Road. Cross Benson Rd /1779 & turn right on KY 1005/ Vigo Road & go east .55 mile. Cemetery is on the right in a grove of trees next to the road.

Methodist Brick Chapel was the first Methodist church in Shelby Co. Established in 1801, & built in 1804, the land (1/2 acre) is still owned by the denomination.

Matthew Sparks & his wife conveyed 3 acres in trust to the Methodists for the Chapel in 1816. The 3 acres abutted the Chapel land & it was sold to furnish the church.
