Ruston Parva is a hamlet found approximately 8 miles (13 km) south-west of Bridlington, near Harpham.
Ruston Parva is an ancient ecclesiastical parish of the Church of England. It is mentioned in the Domesday book, but written as "Roreston". The lordship of the manor was held by the Canons of Church of St John, Beverley in 1066 and 1086.
The parish church, dedicated to St Nicholas, sits atop a small rise and is accessible through a winding uphill path. It was rebuilt in 1832 in a plain Norman style from brick, and is now a Grade II listed building. The building consists of a church tower supported inside by cast iron pillars and a chancel and nave.
The churchyard surrounds the building on all sides. It contains relatively few grave monuments but its elevation above the hamlet allows a pretty view of the surrounding landscape. Parish registers, including burials, dating from the late 1500s have been deposited at the East Yorkshire Record Office in Beverley, East Yorks.
