The Quitt Cemetery lies in Pere Marquette State Park, and there is a small graveled parking area off Powerline Road used by hunters (if traveling west on Powerline, the lot will be on the left as you make a 90 degree turn to the right).
You cannot drive to this cemetery. You must walk about a short distance (about 1/10 mile) to get to it. The gate at the parking lot is always locked, but there is an opening on the end that you can walk through.
As you walk around the gate, there will be a pond surrounded by trees on your right. Follow the treeline 180 degrees around the pond. There will be a gap in the treeline that connects two fields. As you face the gap, the cemetery will be on your left. Do not cross into the other field.
Plan your visit either early in the spring or in the winter. When the crops are in, it's tough to get to the cemetery. Also, take a GPS. The cemetery is near the edge of the woods and is easy to spot only if you know where to look. Also, this section of the park is open to public hunting. Make sure you pay attention to the signs posted at the parking lot, which will state if any hunting season is currently open.
