History: Marsden C. Mints came from North Carolina to McIntosh County, Georgia in the 1850s. Jane K. Young was living in the vicinity of White Chimney next to Wm. A. McIntosh. Her daughter, Leonora, married Mints prior to 1860 (source 11). He acquired more land West of White Chimney River bridge (known as Mints Bridge) (source 2).
Leonora Y. Mints died in 1883 and is the only marked grave in the cemetery. Oral history of an older resident says there were 2 children's graves near here but they were not located. In 1891 Marsden C. Mints was residing in Liberty County, Georgia.
