A Roman Catholic abbey complex, now used by the Trinitarian Order. The foundation dates to 954 AD, the church was converted from a cathedral to an abbey in 1059 by Pope Nicholas II, increasing the monks from twenty to a hundred. In 1297, the abbey was passed from the Benedictines to the Knights Hospitaller's Order of St John of Jerusalem by order of Pope Boniface VIII.
