Turn onto Blue John Rd off of HWY 27 in Burnside, Kentucky. 2.7 miles later Blue John Cemetery will be on your right, just keep going. At 6.1 miles down Blue John Road there will be a farm on the right that has a very large and strange configuration of stones all alone in one area of the field. Looks man made and has 1 very large stone standing straight up in the middle like a monument? You cant miss it if your looking to your right at 6.1 miles. Go up the driveway towards the building until you come to a very large rock at the end, take a left right behind the rock. (You cant miss this rock either, it is huge). You will now be on a dirt or grass road that goes right in front of the building. Pass the large rock formation on your left and keep going straight through the open gate. Up and down a couple of hills @ 100 yds and when the road flattens back out, there will be a four wheeler trail going up a wooded hill on the right. You will have to watch closely for the trail, it will be easy to miss. Hike 50 yards to the top of the 4 wheeler trail and you are in the cemetery. Do not try to drive a car back there. You must have 4 wheel drive!!!
There are approximately 32 stones that I could find but very few are legible. I was told by my uncle the name of the cemetery is Possumtrot or Hyden but I am not 100% sure of this information. Anyone who can help with the identification of these graves please contact James Pence. jamespence@att.net
