History: John Calder, Revolutionary War soldier, came to Liberty Co., GA from Beaufort, S.C. in 1785. His land was in the portion that became McIntosh County in 1793, perhaps the Northwest part which is South of LeConte's Woodmanston Plantation. He later purchased Contentment Plantation from the Nephew/Gignilliat family. Calder's second wife, reportedly is buried beside her husband. The fence is over part of an Unmarked grave, presumably hers.
Note: Calder Cemetery and Contentment Plantation Cemetery are in same area along with Pigeon Hill Cemetery.
