History: This is a small family cemetery. Henry Skilton Atwood, born 1795 in Connecticut, came to McIntosh County in 1820. He married Ann Margaret McIntosh, daughter of John Lachlan and Margaret McCullough McIntosh. They settled at Cedar Point and James Nephew who lived at Manchester Plantation, just to the south may have originally owned this too. H.S. Atwood later purchased Manchester and some of his descendants still own a portion of it. Henry Atwood lived at Cedar Point in the early 1900s and had an oyster factory. Some of his relatives still own the Atwood 1870s family home.
