The community name above shows Longtown when it should read Langtown. FAG selection of communities does not allow corrections only selections. So I could not change the spelling.
An informant told us that he remembered some crypt graves of babies in this cemetery when he was a child. He said the rocks had been moved and now all that remains is a field. He told us that Calhoun's were buried in this cemetery. After doing some research we found evidence that a Calhoun family lived on this land.
John Calhoun entered land in Lawrence County, Alabama on the 9th of December 1895 in the East half of the North West quarter of Section 4-Township 6-Range 7. We also found that he was accessed taxes on this land for the years 1896-1902. The Calhoun cemetery is located on the land which John C. Calhoun entered.
John C. and Elizabeth Calhoun are buried in unmarked graves at the Montgomery Cemetery South of Moulton.
