The Kamloops Chinese Heritage Cemetery was established in the mid-1800s (the earliest known burial took place in 1860). The Chinese were not allowed to bury their dead in Pioneer Cemetery at that time, so the Hudson's Bay Company allowed the Chinese to set up their burial grounds in an area they had owned south of town.
The cemetery was closed in 1979 and contains approximately 125 burial plots. Almost all the markers in the cemetery are in Chinese.
The cemetery is located in downtown Kamloops off of Lombard Street.
