There was fifteen marked graves found by 2004, marked only by field stones with no inscriptions to indicate who is where. On five of the sites the head and foot stones are four feet apart indicating children's graves. Two sites, the stones are approx. six feet apart indicating possible teens. The rest are seven to eight feet apart indicating adult graves.
Names on the Hill Family Cemetery marker were established by extensive research of Hill ancestors prior to 2004. Amos Hill, Margarett Hill and Louis Watson added by T.H.M. ( G,G,G,Grandson ) of Archibald and Samantha Hill.
The family monument was designed and built at the direction of T.H.M. by Superior Design Monument Company in Orlando, Florida. Granite slab was donated by Mr. Walter Mathews of Montezuma, Georgia and installed by Hill ancestors and friends on March 19,2004. It was placed at the exact center of the cemetery site.
It is hoped that someday the stacked stone wall surrounding the site can be rebuilt using the original stones which are still there scattered just outside the fence. Probing indicates a scattering of approx. six feet wide, enough to stack two feet or more high.
