The land in which the Krassin cemetery is located (NE1/4 of NW Quarter of Section 34) has remained in the Krassin family since it was first purchased from the U.S. Government in 1856 by Christian Krassin. It was transferred to his brother, Martin, in 1857, and the land has remained in the hands of Martin's descendants since that time. Martin's son, Emil inherited the land from his father's estate in 1891. Emil's daughter, Pearl (and husband Edward Larson), acquired the land in 1934, and Pearl's daughter and son-in-law, Deloris and Harry McColley, acquired it in 1958. Harry and Deloris' son, Dallas McColley, started purchasing 1/2 interest on the remaining 22 acre tract owned by his parents in 1981. Dallas and his wife Marsha currently own and live on the property. He is a great great great grandson of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Gatzke) Krassin.
Burials in the cemetery probably all occurred before 1876, as when Christian and Martin Krassin (sons of Gottlieb I and Elizabeth) died in 1876 and 1877, they were buried in a cemetery located on the John Sell property in Section 31.
