From Huntsville, take State Highway #74 west for 8 miles; turn left (south) on State Highway #295 and go 2 1/2 miles. Turn left on Madison County Road #6330 and go 2 miles. The Baxter grave is located on the "old Baxter place" which is located about 1/4 mile off of the County Road. The driveway leading to the old Baxter place is on the left side of the County road, and is a narrow, red clay road which goes up a very steep hill with ruts that are about 2-3 feet deep. In February 2012, it is impassable for a vehicle and the only way to reach this grave was to park at the county road and walk up the road to the house. This is on private property and permission should be obtained from the landowner before going onto the property. This is in the SW 1/4 of Section 36, Township 16 North, Range 27 West.

There is a single grave here, that of Mr. Baxter who lived here. At this time we do not know his first name nor the year he died. His grave is in a group of plum trees located about 250 feet behind the house and has no stone although there is a slight indention there.
