Cemetery is located in the yard of the first house as you turn onto 800. This is private property. Many of the stones have 'disappeared' over the years. Listing of burials was taken from a listing at the Clay County Genealogy Library.
As of March 2012, very few of the original stones are still standing, and many of those are difficult to read.
The cemetery is located in Washington Township (NE quadrant of the SE quadrant of the NE quadrant of Section 9 Township 11N Range 5W) on the west side of N County Road 800 E about 0.1 miles south of its intersection with N Bowling Green Poland Road.
Indiana Cemetery Locations, Volume 4, published by the Indiana Genealogical Society (April 2009), gives the primary cemetery name as Schoppenhorst Cemetery with alternate names of German Cemetery and Worsch Cemetery.
The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-11-103 (Schoppenhorst / Worsch German).
