It is located on private property, which was the old Eli Heater farm. Eli's father Philip Heater, obtained the farm from the heirs of Eve Sager, his mother-in-law, who before marrying John Sager, had been married to John Crumbaker, who had purchased the land from the Earl of Tankerville in the 1790s.

Eli Heater inherited the farm from his father in 1836, and lived there until he died in 1902. In 1906 it was purchased by Calvin Everhart from Eli Heater's heirs. After this it was owned by the Sanbower family, into which a grand-daughter of Calvin Everhart had married.
