Churchyard of St. Michael Church built in 1835, this burial ground is considerably older as it was the site of Old Kirk Michael, and was used for interments by the earliest Manx inhabitants - ". . . unchambered tumuli containing cinerary urns are very numerous, especially in Michael . . ." Moore's History of IoM, 1900 -Manx Notebook - Said to be the oldest parliament in the world ". . . Tynwald Courts were held until 1428. . . one mile south of the village of Kirk Michael. . - In the parish churchyard are fine runic crosses, and the graves of Bishops Wilson, Hildesley, and Cregeen."
