Wethersfield State Prison opened in 1827 and was demolished in 1963. The cemetery has no tombstones to mark the graves. Today the area is called Cove Park. All that remains of the Cemetery is a large grassy field and a single marker denoting the spot.
There are no records of burials in the cemetery either.
There are some records of inmates at the prison that can be viewed from the CT state archives website.
To find the marker, from the intersection of Hartford Rd and State St., walk across the field, parallel to Hartford Rd. Look for the inlaid stone in the grass and the marker is to the left of that, towards the far end.
