According to Elmhurst Historical Society records, the cemetery was established at the corner of Larch St. and Armitage Ave. in (at that time) far north Elmhurst in 1894 by Immanuel Lutheran Church of Elmhurst, and was "Destroyed (no explanation) circa 1920". It was in use until 1919. It is possible that the expansion and paving of Lake St. (Rt. 20) directly north of this spot necessitated removal of the cemetery, because the roadway expansion/reconstruction was noted as beginning in the early to mid 1920s, but that is only speculation. Remains were moved out between 1905 and 1925, primarily to Elm Lawn Cemetery, one mile east in Elmhurst, Illinois.
As of March, 2012, Immanuel Lutheran Church says they have no records of the cemetery or its burials.
