The Anglican Bath Abbey Cemetery, officially dedicated as the Cemetery of St Peter and St Paul (the patron saints that Bath Abbey is dedicated to), was laid out on a picturesque hillside site overlooking Bath, and consecrated on 30th January 1844. It was a private Anglican cemetery. The mortuary chapel, along with 37 monuments in the cemetery are Grade II listed.Bath Abbey Cemetery was designed by the eminent landscape architect John Claudius Loudon. The Abbey Cemetery was closed in 1996.

Many of the Headstones or monuments are not readable. Despite the heavy Ivy and overgrowth, the grounds keepers keep this cemetery walkable. There is a Crimean War Memorial with many famous individuals interred such as John Bythesea, Lieutenant, HMS Arrogant, Victoria Cross Holder. His grave is marked by a 8ft Celtic Cross, down the center isle in the 1st block, 3rd row on the left so states some directions, I was not lucky,, post it up should you find it.

This cemetery is easily walked from the Bath Train Station but it is a uphill hike. It is easily driven to the lower gate to the Cemetery, but again a uphill hike toward the Mortuary Chapel. There is a walking route posted in various sections of the Cemetery and famous individuals are marked by numbered signs.
