Located on the grounds of In a ceremony held each year the ashes of many of the people whose bodies were donated or otherwise obtained by the State Anatomy Board are buried at this site. Thousands are buried here, but there are no individual markers, only a central monument which reads ""This monument has been placed with deep appreciation for those who gave unselfishly of themselves to advance medical education and research."

This cemetery is not to be confused with Springfield State Hospital Cemetery, which is located at a different location on hospital grounds. It was for burial of hospital patients and has not been used since 1961.
