When you first enter by way of the east-facing entrance there is an initial pathway running the length of the cemetery to where there was an inclined mound near the rear (which has settled over the years to be undistinguishable). The rear half of the cemetery contains of graves marked solely with uninscribed fieldstones, including some apparently very early ones. The Finleys are buried in a family group on the immediate left of the entrance. Buried in their midst is James Brumfield Prewitt. To the right are four rows of marked burials. The fourth row on the right from the entrance begins with a significant, yet uninscribed, stone, presumably of Francis Jett (who died in Aug 1852), followed by the headstone of Mary (Nay) Jett, then that of her father James Nay, then her mother Elizabeth (Kemper) Nay, then William Nay, and finally Francis Nay Cassady. The second row begins with William S. Bennett, followed by his wife Harriet (Nay) Bennett, then an unnamed infant daughter, followed by Richard T. Bennett. Bennetts and Nays comprise the remainder of the graves clustered to the right of the entrance.
Fortunately I made a map of the cemetery in the 1980s, when the headstones were more legible, marking the locations of most of the individual graves.
