This Greenstreet family is connected to Edward Bates Bagby married to Sarah Greenstreet. It is her parents and siblings. Edward was the son of William Trenton Bagby and Frances Elizabeth Snoddy. Edward and Sarah are buried here at Mt. Carmel. There are broken headstones with Bagby on them.
Margaret Greenstreet states that the cemetery was in very bad shape until Mr. Houseman of the Washington (Missouri) Historical Museum [as of 2004] asked people for assistance in preserving this historic cemetery.
Mr. Ed Garner, who has no connection to this cemetery, has helped raised the funds to clear the cemetery, put up a fence plus a sign. In addition, he found a youth group to do the clearing. He mows the cemetery as it needs it. Mr. Gardner is personally [as of 2004] restoring the headstones and for those who can't be repaired he is making new ones from granite.
