HISTORY OF UCC & LUTHERAN CEMETERY
The Lutheran and Reformed Church in Madisonburg was established as a Union Church in 1822. The Lutherans and the Reformeds shared the Union Church until 1880 when the Reformed members withdrew and erected their own church building. This cemetery was established about the time of the erection of the Reformed Church. Today the former Reformed Cemetery, now United Church of Christ Cemetery, and the original Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery are administered by one Cemetery Association, Inc. A sign in cemetery reads:

DIRECTIONS TO UCC & LUTHERAN CEMETERY
At the intersection of Routes 144 (Pennsylvania Avenue) and 192 (Brush Valley Road/Church Street) in Centre Hall, take Route 192 East 10.5 miles to the village of Madisonburg. Turn left onto West Street, one street before the intersection of Rt. 445 and 192. United Church of Christ and Lutheran Reformed is the first cemetery on the left. N40°55.441' W77°30.997'
