Also referred to as "Campbell Cemetery" in the Jim Bishop book, The Cemeteries of Austin County, Texas and in the Pier Diaries, authored by Lucy Merry Pier and her daughter, Sarah Pier Wiley (located in the Carroll Library at Baylor University). It is sometimes confused with the Travis-Pier Cemetery off Old Travis (36) Road less than two miles away.

Located near the former town of Travis, named in honor of the hero of the Alamo, William B. Travis. It is located on private farm land a short distance southwest of the old town site, which is, itself, a scant few miles southwest of the present town of Kenney.
Indicative of the historical value of the cemetery are such things as the age of the tombstones, as well as the stature of those buried there. The oldest date located on a tombstone is 7 Sept. 1861.
Directions from Bellville: go north on Hwy 36 a short distance and turn left on Old Hwy 36 and travel a short distance to Old Nelsonville Rd. to the left. turn there and a short distance on the left is Broken spoke Rd (really a gravel driveway). Continue to the end and a gate between a barn and a house. Through the gate over a faint trail in the grass is the cemetery.
