Bank Burial Ground
Ramelton, County Donegal, Ireland
The BANK BURIAL GROUND is known locally as the "New Burying Ground," as opposed to the "Old Tullyaughnish Burying Ground," next to the ruins of the old Abbey on Church Street.
In 1807 a Second Ramelton Presbyterian Church was built along the banks of the Lennon River and was known as the "Bank Church." A third congregation, known as the Scots Church, formed in 1837.
From 1911 to 1991 the two congregations combined, using the 1837 location. The Bank Church was used as a church hall until it burned down in the 1920s. About 1990 their churchyard became the Bank Burial Ground and is still in use.
There is no sign at the entrance.
