Boulware-Morehead Cemetery
Randolph County, Missouri, USA
This cemetery was destroyed during construction of the Vanderbeck addition in Huntsville. According to oral sources, the cemetery was abandoned at the time, and after putting notices in the newspaper, the stones were pushed over and buried under dirt. The only sign of it now is a small patch of the back of a gravestone showing through the grass. I have not been able to contact anyone who knows who was buried here, but the land was owned by Hardenia Pleasants Garth-Head-Boulware at the time of her death in 1891. The Boulware home was located on the NW corner of Mulberry & Water Streets., with the cemetery about 250 yds SW of the house. They owned 150 acres in this area which was much of the wooded land in the Google Map image.
Hardenia Boulware is supposed to be buried in the Head Family Cemetery with her first husband, Dr Waller Head, but there is no stone for either of them. It is possible they both are buried here as he was a physician in Huntsville at the time of his death in 1845. She married William L Boulware in 1848 but he died shortly afterwards, in 1849, and is said to be buried with his first wife in Cooper County.
These burials are strictly guesses based on land records, death notices, census' and other internet sources. If anyone has any information about this cemetery, please let me know.
