Cemetery is located on a hill. It is hidden by trees and undergrowth and there is no access to it from the road. There is a deep (hidden) ditch and then the hill has been cut off creating a vertical dirt sheer ranging from 5 1/2 feet at the northern end to over 6 feet at the southern end. If there were steps or an entrance, they are gone. It can not be accessed from the south due to heavy tree fall and underbrush. It cannot be accessed from the north or west due to heavy underbrush and the electric fencing for the neighbor's horses.
There are at least seven (7) markers visible but a couple may be foot stones.
DO NOT try to pull the car off the road. There are very deep and hidden ditches on both sides of the road. Heading south, Windsor Ave is in view to turn around. Heading north, there is a driveway about 1/8 mile away that can be used.
Both West Street in Plainfield and Bush Road in Cummington are a mix of pavement and dirt. They are plowed during the winter.
In 1950, Packard described it as "originally a family burial ground. On the west side of West Street northerly from the intersection with Windsor Avenue, a high spot in the field of Dexter Dyer later owned by James Harris. Owned by John & Inez Ross in 1950"
Corbin transcribed six (6) stones on 18 March 1933. He described it as "on James Harris farm near Deer Hill"
Corbin and Lambert call it Haskins Family Cemetery. Packard and maps call it West Street Cemetery.
It is not listed in MACRIS
