This cemetery is also referred to as the "Ramseur Cem."

From Lincolnton, take W. Main St., west, 3 blocks. Turn right on N. Grove St.
Go seven-tenths of a mile, turn onto Startown Rd. (SR 1005). So 1.3 miles, turn left on River Rd. (SR 1268).
Go 1.8 miles, stop. Turn left on road, go two-tenths of a mile. Site is on little knoll to your right, next to the tree line.

This cemetery is located on the estate lands of Dietrich Ramseur who moved to Lincoln Co., NC in 1752 from Pennsylvania. He immigrated from near the Ramsaur River in Austria, departing at Rotterdam for Philadelphia in Oct. 1727. He willed the property to his sons, Jacob and David Ramseur. The name evolved to be known as Ramsaur and Ramsour. Many Ramseur/Ramsaur/ Ramsour generations are buried in this cemetery along with associated family lines.
