Sometimes called "Old Tom's Creek", to distinguish it from Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, which was called "New Tom's Creek".

The church was founded in the early 1800's. In the 1830's the congregation split, the "anti-missionary" members formed Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, and the "pro-missionary" members continued to meet at the old church until the 1890's, when they moved to Denton and formed the Denton Missionary Baptist Church (now First Baptist Church, Denton, NC).

This cemetery was lost to farming, and all stones removed from the site, so there is no physical evidence of its existence. It is estimated there were thirty to forty graves, most with field stone markers with no inscriptions.

It was located in Emmons Township, on the north side of Bombay Road (NC Hwy 47), about 1/2 mile east of the Gallimore Road/Klopman Road intersection.
