"This family cemetery was located approximately 100 meters south of Wilcox Road and east of Range Road (Training Area 46) in what was Tract H-626 owned by Minnie V. Brown in 1944 (see Table 1 and Figure 1). It is marked as "relocated" on the 1944 map and included on Godburn's list of cemeteries relocated to Butterwood Church where 18
individuals are listed: Henry West, Mrs. Jane West, Miss Rebecca West, Sallie West and 14 Unknowns (Godburn 1977: G-7). The location is heavily overgrown but identifiable
as a 25 meter square area containing approximately 12 east-west oriented grave depressions (Plate 24). There is no fence enclosure and the remains of an historic
farmstead, dating from the 19th to early 20th century, are located east of the cemetery. This area was included in the Fort Pickett Cultural Resource Program's 2005.01
archaeological survey of the Range 20 and Wilcox Road project area (Boyko et al. in press)."
