"This family cemetery is located east of Range 3 within Fort Pickett's controlled access danger area. This cemetery is marked as "relocated" in Tract H-258 owned by J.B. Morgan et ux. in 1944 (see Table 1 and Figure 1). Godburn's list of graves moved to Butterwood Church notes the relocation of 35 individuals from this cemetery: Mrs. Slate, Bennie Slate, Sallie E. Slate, James Ragsdale, Mr. Slate, Jonnie Ragsdale, Eleanor Ragsdale, Robert Inge, William Ragsdale, Julia Ragsdale, Jasper Ragsdale, Mary Inge, 3 Ragsdale Infants, Winfield Ragsdale, Sallie Pettus, Hardwell Bentley and 17 Unknowns (Godburn 1977: G-6). Also, one metal marker at Gills Bridge Road identifies a Cora Christopher as originally from this cemetery (see Table 5). The exact location of this former cemetery has not been identified at the time of this survey."
