Long Island is situated in the middle of Boston Harbor, Massachusetts. The island is part of the City of Boston and of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. Located on the island is a Civil War monument and cemetery with the remains of 79 soldiers, a hospital cemetery with approx 3,000 internments as well as an unmarked cemetery.
